House Of Fear game info
An old haunted house lays before you. It keeps creepy secrets behind those locked doors, both main and side ones. You've been given an assignment and a delicate one for that matter. Under the vail of snowy night, you should beak into the house, solve all its mysteries, get out of there and blow everything up when you are finished.
A horror atmosphere, which is typical for haunted houses, is waiting for you inside the house. Lots of rooms, most of them locked. Skeletons all over, here and there an occasional ghost. Fireplace, old furniture and number of pictures on the walls. An old half-light library. Everything is creepy, including the music, but overall the game is not scary. All that creepiness is actually only the background for many brain teasers and logic puzzles you need to solve as part of your task.
Besides an excellent design and original music, interface was the one thing most criticized by the players. Too many objects (24 slots in the inventory) suggest that story is long and complicated. Some problems don't follow the logical flow, and others have more than one solution - like entering the house. One of most addressed issues is the fact that cursor doesn't change when in contact with interactive objects.
Complete textual walktrough won't be presented here due to its extensiveness. A great alternative is a video walktrough suggested as part of in-game help which was taken from YouTube.
