Escape From Alnwick Castle game info
Escape from Alnwick Castle is another point and click game played with mouse only.
The story is about a corporate photographer who went to the castle to take some pictures and found himself locked in at the end of the day. Now, the only way for him to escape is to find clues, solve puzzles and get out of there. I presume it wouldn't be very nice if he found himself still there when it got dark. Now, lets see what we have here. There are 10 scenes altogether, some inside the castle and others around it. Collect everything you can get your hands on (and I mean that literally, every time your cursor turns from arrow to hand there is an object you can pick up).
Every piece you collect will automatically be stored in an inventory on your left. Once you find a purpose for any of them simply take them out and place them onto the puzzle or any other way necessary. Going from one room or scene if you prefer, is quite easy and very clear. It is also easy to remember where everything is because you will be going back and fort many times. Navigation is as I already said clear. Some puzzles will reveal themselves at once and you will make progress but then usually everybody gets stuck at some point. In that case you can consult Walkthrough for assistance. I personally liked the graphics in this one but that might just be me liking old castles. Background music is very cheerful and supporting although it might be a bit less lively as far as I am concerned.
Since this game takes place in this amazing castle it would be only right to say a word or two about it. Alnwick Castle is one of the biggest inhabited castles in England. It is home to a well known Duke of Northumberland's family, the Percys. Over the 700+ years of its existence, it had witnessed many drama and heartbreak but also romance. Many describe it as a fairy tale castle and most find it a most enjoyable. It contains a stunning art collections, a must see State Rooms and medieval crafts which simply can't be missed. Now I start sounding like a tour guide. Anyway, a beautiful place in the northern England which found its way into the gaming world as well.
